two or three versions of the day, each with a plan for rain
Where
the island, Phang Nga Bay, Phi Phi, the Similan Islands
Tickets
national park tickets arranged in advance for every guest

We do not start with a list of sights

First, a question: how would you like to remember the day—quiet, active, with family or as a celebration—and who will be with you? From the answer come two or three plans, with timings, travel and a fallback for rain.

If your idea is not on the list below, write to us. We will tell you honestly whether it can be done and how long it needs to prepare.

Hidden Phuket

On and around the island there are places you cannot see from the road. Some have no road at all, some can be reached only through a hotel, and others only the tide reveals. We build the day around them: when to set out, how to get there, who will meet you.

  • Laem Singh—a beach with no road. A small cove between Kamala and Surin. The steps down to it were closed in April 2017 after a land dispute; now it is reached by boat from Kamala or Surin. We take the whole boat: it drops you off and collects you whenever you say.
  • Pansea—a beach behind two hotels. Officially it is public, but it can be reached almost only through The Surin and Amanpuri. On the sand stands Nura, Amanpuri’s Mediterranean restaurant, which welcomes non-resident guests when there is space. We book a table at Nura in your name—a way to reach Pansea without staying at the hotel. The restaurant is seasonal, so we check dates and hours before you go.
  • A hong after sunset. Hongs are lagoons inside the islands of Phang Nga Bay. You enter them by canoe through low sea caves, and only when the water allows, so the departure time is set by the tide table. On an evening trip you come back after dark: bioluminescent plankton can sometimes be seen in the water, and you can set a krathong afloat—the crew collects it afterwards, so nothing is left in the hong. We go by private charter: the boat and the canoes are for you and your guests only.
  • A night at the Similans. Overnight stays on the islands themselves are not allowed, so guests sleep on board: the boat is moored to a buoy off the islands, and in the morning you are already at the first dive site. A whole boat or a cabin on a dive liveaboard—we will tell you straight away what is available on your dates.
  • A private evening. Dinner at a villa or on deck—for your guests only. Photos and video are published only with your written consent. More under Celebrations & Events.

What is possible on your dates depends on the season and the water. We establish that in the first conversation.

What we can put together

The sea, timed to the water

  • Maya Bay on Phi Phi—at opening time. The bay opens at 07:00, and visitors go ashore in sessions of up to 375 people at a time; swimming is not allowed. It is closed in August and September.
  • Diving with a private instructor. The Similan quota is no more than 525 divers a day, so we secure your place early.
  • A night on a yacht in a bay off the islands.

Ashore

  • One-to-one Muay Thai training.
  • A chef comes to your villa: the market together in the morning, then a Thai lunch you have cooked yourself.

Island festivals

  • Loy Krathong—the November full moon. The evening when krathongs are floated on the water—we will find a quieter spot.
  • King’s Cup Regatta—early December, off Kata. Around a hundred yachts; we will find a place on shore with a view of the racing.
  • Chinese New Year, 6–12 February 2027. The celebrations take place in Phuket Town, around the Old Town.
  • Songkran, 13–15 April. Thai New Year: in Phuket the water fights go on beyond the three official days—you can be in the thick of it or somewhere quieter.

Photo and video

A photographer or videographer for the day. We fly a drone only if it is registered with the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) and the telecoms regulator (NBTC). Night flights and flights above 90 m need separate written permission from CAAT.

If it rains

In the rainy season, every day has a fallback under cover: a kitchen with a chef, the spa, the Old Town, a session in the gym. We decide in the morning, by the forecast—without cancelling the day.

What you won’t have to do

  • Buy national park e-tickets for every guest and pay fees on the spot.
  • Look for somewhere to park and wait for a taxi back.
  • Get by in Thai—a guide is with you, or your manager is a message away.
  • Rebuild the day if a bay closes or the wind rises: the fallback is ready in advance.

Activities and clubs for children—see Family & Schools.

How it works

  1. Conversation. What you love, what you would rather avoid, who is with you, which days are free.

  2. Plans. Two or three versions of the day: departure time, travel, where to eat, a plan for rain.

  3. Preparation. We book, make the arrangements and issue national park tickets.

  4. The day before. The plan for the day by message: when the car arrives, what to bring.

  5. During the day. Your manager is on hand. If something changes, we adjust as we go.

On your manager, payment and privacy, see How we work.
